Dave Erato

Dave Erato graduated from UW-Milwaukee in May 2005 with a B.F.A. in
Multiple Woodwind Performance. There he studied saxophone with
Curt Hanrahan, clarinet with Bill Helmers and bassoon with Beth
Giacobassi. |

Currently he has a studio of about 30 students around the
greater Milwaukee area. Dave teaches woodwinds at Lincoln
Music in Milwaukee, the Waukesha County Conservatory of Music at
Hartland Music (thanks to Gary!), and at Homestead High School
in Mequon. He has also worked with young bands in the
Kenosha School District and has worked with the award-winning
Oak Creek HS Marching Band. |
As a
woodwind doubler, Dave has played for a variety of local theater
groups in the area. Highlights of his musical career
include performing with Alex Chilton and the Boxtops and
the
Dorsey Brothers Orchestra. At the age of 18, Dave
auditioned for and was accepted to be one of the youngest cast
members in Blast II: Shockwave at Walt Disney World in
Orlando, Florida. There he worked with the Emmy and Tony
award-winning creative team of the broadway hit Blast!.
Local groups he has worked with in the past include Cold
Sweat and the Brew City Horns, Isla Adentro, and King
Comets. He currently plays with local bands Wall of
Sound and Gary Christensen’s
All-Star SUPERband.
