Born in Milwaukee and raised in Racine,
WI, Chuck started his musical career as a trumpet player in
fourth grade by playing in the Racine elk's Band. He switched to
baritone horn in sixth grade. Chuck plays several
instruments today, including the trombone, euphonium, tuba,
trumpet and French horn. |

Chuck has worked for over twenty years as an assembler,
tester, repair man and supervisor at Martin Band Instruments,
working on trumpets and trombones for such artists as Miles
Davis, Maynard Ferguson, Arturo Sandoval, Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Steinmorer, Curtis Fuller and Phil Driscoll.
The company closed in April, 2005 and he now works at Leblanc
as a saxophone assembler. |
He has played with many big bands,
community bands, quintets in southeast Wisconsin and in northern
Illinois. In addition, Chuck has played in the pit
orchestra for many shows at Woodstock Theater and in several
high school and community theatre productions. He began as a sub
for the at Jimmy D's and soon became a regular bass trombone
player, playing each Thursday night at Long Wong's.
